Five Steve Jobs Motivational Quotes That Will Change your Life

How is your life going? Are you dragging your feet? You could apparently use a dose of motivation. We all need motivation. I have provided five Steve Jobs motivational quotes that could potentially change your life. Take some time and meditate on the meaning and life behind these quotes.

I bought my first Apple product when I was in my late twenties. Ever since that day, I have been one of Apple’s biggest fans.

I have followed Steve Jobs and his life story and was fascinated by his passion and persistence. I love how he turned around a struggling business and made it as one of the wealthiest businesses in the world. That’s commitment. When Steve Jobs spoke, he demanded an audience. So, listen up.

“I’m convinced that about half of what separates successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.”

I’m also convinced. Persistence is essential to one’s success. In business, there are so many ups and downs that you could potential quit every day. How many people quit right before their business was ready to flourish.

Have you ever heard of the story of R. U. Harby?

Harby’s uncle had gold fever. So he decided to stake a claim and start digging. After working hard, the uncle found a vein of gold. He covered up his mine and headed home to raise money so that he could purchase machinery and bring the gold to the surface.

After some convincing, Harby and his uncle raised the money and headed back to their claim to work for their fortune. Things began well; they found enough gold to pay off all of their debts. Everything now would be pure profit. Things were looking up. Both Harby and his uncle were very excited.

Then the gold dried up. It was almost like the vein had vanished. Where did it go? Their dreams of great riches were slowly fading away.

In time, they became frustrated. Harby and his uncle took all of their machinery and sold it to a junk man for only one hundred dollars.

After Harby and his uncle went home in disappointment, the practical junk man decided that he was going to give mining a try. He called a mining engineer who in time discovered that there was a large gold vein just three feet from where Harby and his uncle stopped digging.

The junk man went on to make millions of dollars.

Harby later became a very successful insurance salesman. He was asked one day what the reason was for his remarkable success. Harby said that he had learned early in his life never to quit three feet from gold.

Don’t quit.

“My favorite things in life don’t cost any money. It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time.”

Steve Jobs died way too young. He accomplished in his short life what several couldn’t do in two lifetimes. Why? He made good use of his time.

I love this quote. It is true that the greatest stuff in life does not cost money. Our time is something that we can quickly overlook. Benjamin Franklin said, “Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of.”

We cannot waste our time. Let’s all be careful planners of the time that we have, making sure that we do not misuse it. If you are a bad manager of your time, you are going to have a difficult time becoming successful.

“My model for business is The Beatles. They were four guys who kept each other’s kind of negative tendencies in check. They balanced each other, and the total was greater than the sum of the parts. That’s how I see business: Great things in business are never done by one person, they’re done by a team of people.”

There are no self-made people. We are all the results of several individuals that have invested in our life.

They say, “teamwork makes the dream work!” I think there is a lot of wisdom in that statement.

“Sometimes when you innovate, you make mistakes. It is best to admit them quickly, and get on with improving your other innovations.”

In our society we punish mistakes. This isn’t right. Mistakes are an essential part of becoming a successful individual. Almost every businessperson has made mistakes.

Make sure you respond correctly to your mistakes. Admit your mistakes. After admitting, move on to other projects.

When a baby learns to walk, they fall again and again. The falling is an essential part of the walking process. When we begin a business, we are going to make mistakes, and that is okay. That is more than just okay, it’s necessary. Learn from those mistakes and grow because of them.

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”

This quote is an excellent way to end this post. It’s one of my favorite quotes.

If you do what you love, then you will not have to work another day in your life. Your job should have you waking up with enthusiasm, and you should be eager to achieve something great.

Steve Jobs was a great motivator. Our world misses him. We miss his innovation and wisdom. His wisdom still lives on. Steve was someone that didn’t just teach business lessons but lived them. He showed them with his life.

So, keep your head high. Give today your best, and focus on success.

Oh, and one more thing . . . .

You’re going to kill it out there!

  1. Hey,

I like the quote about innovation and admitting mistakes. I think that sometimes the great minds that are doing the innovation also come with an ego which tends to overshadow the ability to admit mistakes and move on.

The REALLY great minds have the creative innovative mindset as well as the humility to admit and move on.

Steve Jobs was notorious for being kind of an asshole but I think the point is to know when to move on and when to go with your gut despite what everyone is telling you to do and when to move on.

    Thanks,
    Dom

Good points. Steve Jobs made some mistakes along the way, but he moved on and learned the lessons needed to be successful.

  2. Self Motivation is something we all struggle with at some point. I love this post.

There are so many great quotes here. You’ve definitely done your research 🙂

I also love your quote ~ “There are no self-made people. We are all the results of several individuals that have invested in our life”.

  3. These quotes really made me smile. They are all so true!

I particularly love the second one about time being such a precious resource. Too many people get so caught up with the everyday stresses of life that they only realise they could/should have taken a different path when it’s often too late.

I also love the last quote – never settle! I have seen far too many people I know settle in work, relationships etc…you’ve got to put yourself out of your comfort zone if necessary and do what makes you really happy.
